A psychic is a very broad term referring to people who are able to sense with or connect with spiritual world.  There are many kinds of psychics, many types of gifts.  Even in my own acquaintance in just the Calgary area, I know many women and men who have a broad spectrum of intuitive abilities.  What do I do? My way of communicating with the other side is so immediate and physical.  I am clairaudient, clairsentient and clairvoyant.  I’m also a medium. 

A psychic reading is like a counselling session where you open yourself to input from the spirit world, not just the human world of emotions, logic and behaviour archetypes.  A psychic reading is often very helpful for people who are using conventional therapy but not finding it effective or fast enough.  Often problems have psychic roots, either in karma or past life issues, and once understood from this broader perspective, can be a lot easier to fix than via conventional therapy.

It is said that anyone can be psychic, or at least intuitive. The psychics with the most open connections to the spiritual world have usually been this way from birth, and are aware of their difference even from a young age.  I don’t think this type of ability can be learned.  However, everyone can definitely improve their intuitive abilities.  I’ve seen this many times.  Also, everyone has the ability to receive messages and guidance from the other side. Every book about being psychic talks about how to do this—watch for birds, butterflies, electrical trouble, dreams, ideas that just pop into your head, and strong gut feelings. Sometimes when a car almost hits yours but doesn’t, you might think, “boy, was I lucky!”  Believe me, that wasn’t just luck; that was assistance from the other side, in the form of a loved one or an angel or guide.

Many people don’t want to be psychic either, whether consciously or subconsciously.  I’ve got some friends in the Calgary area who love that I’m a psychic but have no interest in being one themselves.  Being open to entities like ghosts and poltergeists can be pretty scary to many people, and a person needs to be grounded in a spiritual tradition to handle this.  I’ve lived all over the world, and ended up in the Calgary area about 7 years ago.  Even here, in this small Western Canadian city, there’s a lot of weird stuff going on!  I take care of these entities in what I call “house-cleanings.”  

Being a strong psychic from a very young age has the advantage of habituating us to the spirit world at a really deep level.  We’ve been seeing, speaking with, hearing, and relating with entities from the spirit world as if they were members of our world for a very long time! So what to non-psychics seems really weird or scary is just pretty normal for us.

I don’t understand the physiology behind the psychic ability.  There must be a physical reason for it that we just haven’t documented yet.  It must have something to do with the wiring of the brain—receptors, pineal gland, synapses, something like this. Whatever it is, it’s real, and it’s generally hereditary, so there must be a physiological reason that our science is just too primitive to measure.

For quite a bit of Christian history, in many parts of the world currently, and even in ours, if fundamentalists had their way, people with a direct link to the spirit world would be burned at the stake.  Empirical science is only now starting to take metaphysics seriously.  The fact that “real” science and medicine regard psychics as quacks is perfectly natural; everyone thought Galileo, Copernicus and Columbus were crazy, too, right?

Being a medium is different than being a psychic.  Not all psychics are mediums.  Mediumship is the ability to communicate with spirits. Some of the most famous psychic mediums that you may have heard of are Sylvia Browne, Alison Dubois (she's actually a real psychic who works in Phoenix, not just a fictional character) and James van Praagh. These powerful psychic mediums all have published excellent books about their work with the spiritual world.  They are all dedicated to healing and their books are an excellent way to expand your horizons. 

There are many different forms of mediumship.

• Clairaudience means the medium can hear the voice of the spirit in his / her head or truly aurally.
• Clairvoyance means the medium can see what the spirit looks like, either in the mind (mind’s eye or third eye) or with the physical eyes.
• Clairsentience means the medium can sense the personality of the spirit.
• There is also trance mediumship, when a spirit uses the medium’s body to communicate. The spirit will overshadow the consciousness of the medium. Trance mediumship can range from a light trance, to a very deep trance, when the medium will have no recollection of the channelling session afterward

I am clairaudient, clairvoyant and clairsentient, both as a psychic and medium, but I do not enter trance for mediumship during individual readings for clients. What this means, is that I can see the spirit with my mind’s eye, hear him or her in my mind and with my ears, and feel his / her presence, and feel whether my interpretation of the spirit’s messages are accurate. I don’t let any spirits control my body during an individual reading.

Spirits will generally provide some evidence that is specific and unique, to confirm that they are really your loved one. My clients often recognize the spirit’s personality or the clues immediately. I would say nearly 100% of spirits have basically one message for their loved ones: “I’m really here. I love you. I’m ok. I want you to be ok, too. Please let go of your pain and be happy.”  Even if your loved one experienced pain here, on the other side, most spirits are just fine, no longer feeling separated from the infinite love of God.

If I’m unable to speak with a spirit, it’s usually because that spirit is undergoing healing; his or her guides, angels or other loved ones who have crossed over will provide me with this information and give me an update. If this is the case, I can sense the condition of the loved one, but not speak with him or her directly.  Some souls carry deep trauma from their lives, whether from sickness, the type of passing, or difficult relations during life.  Angels care for these souls in what I can describe as the healing place.  Time works differently on the other side, so generally it is not known how long a soul spends in the healing place.  

Basically we want to communicate with our loved ones to know if they survived death, and if they are the same people we knew and loved while together on earth.  You will be happy to know that the answers to these very important questions are YES and YES! And we too shall survive the experience we call death, and be able to communicate with our loved ones here on the physical plane.

I’ve communicated with loved ones who had violent endings in this lifetime, including people who committed suicide, and many are at peace and happy on the other side. The comfort this brings to family members can’t be overstated, and being a witness to the unconditional love and happiness that exists on the other side is one of the principal benefits of my line of work.  Many people try to believe in heaven, in God, etc; they spend their lives trying hard but always doubting, never sure, going through the motions just in case.  Well, I can tell you that it is real, that God is real, that the soul is eternal and lives beyond the body. Reincarnation is real.  I see and feel all of it. Once you have made contact with your loved ones on the other side, you will never doubt again, and this makes living and loving so much easier!

You might be wondering how you can distinguish a good psychic from a fraud. This doesn’t seem like it would be so difficult; the amount of information that I get from a loved one or from the spirit world on your behalf is enormous and specific.  Get a personal referral, review testimonials and follow your gut after you’ve reviewed his or her web site or other promotional materials.  Personally, I wouldn’t get a reading from someone who seems unhappy or who was unprofessional, or who doesn’t seem focused primarily on healing. Psychics are here to serve; our gifts are here for the purposes of spreading love, healing, and forgiveness here on earth.  Psychic reading needs to follow this prime objective.  

No psychic is 100% accurate also, so don’t screw up your reading by being confrontational or overly judgemental; you need to come to the reading with the higher objective at the forefront of your goal list!  We work together to make the reading work for you.  I don’t need you to ask any specific questions; all of the information that the spirit world wants to send forth for you will just start pouring forth.  But it is a good idea to bring a list of questions, grouped into the broad areas of relationships, health, career & finances, life purpose & path. Cards, balls, runes are not required but can be helpful. I often use a pendulum. These tools can be useful when you’re trying to develop your intuitive abilities, too.

Every psychic’s gifts are different; I specialize in mediumship and readings that concern emotions and relations—understanding why you are here, why you’re here with who you’re with, life lessons you need to learn, your past life history that you bring to bear on your current life.

I deal with so many people in such crippling emotional pain that it is an honour to provide the perspective of this higher objective, either by helping you understand your choices better or by communicating with your loved ones who have passed on.

Many psychics can work over the telephone just as effectively as in person.  I am comfortable reading over the phone or in person.  We can certainly also communicate with your loved one during a telephone reading.  If you are able to, however, the experience will be much more powerful for you if you come to my place, and bring some objects or photographs.  I have had many clients tell me they can feel their loved one’s presence at the meeting; it’s a physical sensation like tingling or a surge of something running through your arms or legs; goosebumps, too.

We choose our lives prior to incarnation, as well as all the lessons we want to learn; keeping this in mind will make your journey easier and will make it a lot easier to let go of anger, resentment and fear.  Forgiveness, unconditional forgiveness, of yourself, your family, and all others around you, is your one-stop solution to every problem.  Sometimes it can take a bit of work to get down to what the issue requiring forgiveness is. Often the source of a problem is that we need to forgive ourselves for some perceived wrong for which we believe we deserve to suffer! Often we carry trauma from previous lifetimes that we need to practice letting go of.
